Arnaud’s is unique for several reasons. First is its sheer size of 19 dining rooms that encompasses almost an entire French Quarter block. Next, Arnaud’s does in fact house a museum on its premises dedicated to the founder’s daughter and restaurateur Germaine Casanave Wells and her collection of historic, beautiful Mardi Gras ball gowns. And lastly, Arnaud’s is where Shrimp Arnaud or Remoulade was invented. Remoulade sauce can be found from small cafes, to upscale restaurants to home kitchens in New Orleans.

Oysters Bienville was originated here named for the founder of New Orleans and the street Arnaud’s is located on.
